چکیده

In this paper, we propose a sharpness dependent filter design based on the fairing of surface normal, whereby the filtering algorithm automatically selects a filter. This may be a mean-filter, a min-filter, or a filter ranked between these two, depending on the local sharpness value and the sharpness dependent weighting function selected. To recover the original shape of a noisy model, the algorithm selects a mean-filter for flat regions and a min-filter for distinguished sharp regions. The selected sharpness dependent weighting function has a Gaussian, Laplacian, or El Fallah Ford form that approximately fits the sharpness distribution found in all tested noisy models. We use a sharpness factor in the weighting function to control the degree of feature preserving. The appropriate sharpness factor can be obtained by sharpness analysis based on the Bayesian classification. Our experiment results demonstrate that the proposed sharpness dependent filter is superior to other approaches for smoothing a polygon mesh, as well as for preserving its sharp features.  2005 Elsevier B.V. Introduction to a simple yet effective Two-Dimensional Fuzzy Smoothing Filter

Annihilation or reduction of each kind of noise blended in correct data signals is a field that has attracted many researchers. It is a fact that fuzzy theory presents full capability in this field. Fuzzy filters are often strong in smoothing corrupted signals, whereas they have simple structures. In this paper, a new powerful yet simple fuzzy procedure is introduced for sharpness reduction in ...

Remote Sensing Image Dehazing using Guided Filter

Remote sensing image dehazing is challenging because it is massively ill-posed and the haze is dependent on the unknown depth information. Haze removal based on dark channel prior is effective, and refining the transmission map with Gaussian filter will produce a god result. But need to improve the naturalness and sharpness and effectiveness of images and to remove fine haze . So Proposes new a...

Mesh Median Filter for Smoothing 3-D Polygonal Surfaces

In this paper, we introduce a new mesh filtering method: a mesh median filter. This is an application of the median filter to smoothen 3-D noisy shapes given by triangle meshes. An algorithm of the mesh median filter is realized by applying the median filter to face normals on triangle meshes and updating mesh vertex positions to make them fit to the filtered normals. As an advanced modificatio...

Graph-based Image Sharpening Filter Applied to Image Denoising

The present paper focuses on a new class of mesh filter for grayscale images, called grid smoothing filter. The framework presented considers an image as a sampling grid associated to a set of gray levels. Furthermore, the sampling grid is seen as mesh composed by vertices and edges, the number of vertices being equal to the number of pixels in the image. Embedding the mesh in a 2D Euclidian sp...

Bilateral Filter for Meshes Using New Predictor

A new predictor of bilateral filter for smoothing meshes is presented. It prevents shrinkage of corners. A major feature of mesh smoothing is to move every vertex along the direction determined by the mean curvature normal with speed defined by the predictor. It prevents unnatural deformation for irregular meshes. In order to remove the normal noise, we use adaptive Gaussian filter to smooth tr...
